FAQs
Will my rates increase if I file a claim?
No. Hail damage is considered an act of nature, not an at fault claim.
What is PDR?
PDR or Paintless Dent Repair is a method of removing minor dents or dings without removing any paint from the vehicle. This is done by patiently massaging the dent out from behind the panels, or from the front using specialized tools.
Why choose Paintless Dent Repair (PDR)?
The Paintless dent repair (PDR) process is entirely focused on preserving a vehicle’s original panels, paint and parts. Using this technique, your vehicle’s structural integrity is the main focus.
Will hail damage be reported on my Carfax?
No. Unlike standard body shops, we do not report to Carfax because we do not replace panels.
How long do repairs take?
Repairs typically take between 7-12 days. We currently average 8 days for repair time.
Why choose Hail Genie instead of my insurance company’s recommended shop?
Unlike your insurance company’s preferred repair facilities, Hail Genie’s priority is you and your vehicle. We work closely with insurance to make sure an accurate estimate of the damage is written, allowing our staff to complete a proper repair.
What if my insurance didn’t give me enough money to pay for repairs?
Insurance companies can often write a low initial estimate that does not accurately reflect the damage present on your vehicle. We rectify this by submitting paperwork to your insurance called a supplement, requesting additional funds to cover the actual cost of repairs.
Should I wait until my car gets hit with more hail before filing a hail claim?
Absolutely NOT. When your vehicle suffers multiple hail storms, dents can compound and layer over each other. In severe cases, the excessive damage can make it impossible for your vehicle to qualify for PDR, and your vehicle would have to be repaired conventionally eg: Bondo, filler, roof replacements, etc.
